About Bethany
Hello!
My name is Bethany Schaefer and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. In 2017 I joined the Hill Country Bible Church Counseling Team and have been here ever since. I received my Master's degree in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas State University. I have spent many years training in Bowen Family Systems and am trained in both EMDR and Brainspotting for the treatment of trauma.
I specialize in working with adult individuals and couples that are struggling with or interested in exploring relationship dynamics and/or trauma. Some of the work I do includes pre-marital planning, issues with parenting, difficulty with communication, intimacy, and infidelity. My approach begins believing that everyone needs a safe place to explore themselves and their patterns. My goal is to work together with my clients to create an environment where it is safe to be curious and to learn while also gaining helpful practical tools to implement outside of the office.
In addition to being a counselor, I am a wife, mom, and ministry leader. I enjoy learning, writing, relationships, sports (especially softball), and spending quality time with those that I love.
