This week, we look at three steps to life: Jesus is Lord, Live Jesus’ Values, and Your Life Will Stand. Does your life reflect these principles?  And, if not, what adjustments can you make?

The Bible tells us that Jesus has the ability and the authority to forgive. In Luke, Jesus established that He can, wants to, and will forgive you.

There’s good news in that Jesus has come to offer spiritual freedom, and he has come for those who admit their spiritual need. This is all of us. In light of this, how do you respond?

Luke is intentional to balance the credible with the incredible. What is it that God needs to show you to act in faith, and how will that influence you moving forward?

Luke 2, which is set in the real world, primarily focuses on John the Baptist and Jesus.  We see that Jesus was sent by God to save the world, and John was sent by God to reach the world around him.    

God has a plan, for which he makes promises. And He fulfills those promises through people.  But, as we’ve all likely experienced, God doesn’t always work the way we expect, so He looks for faith.

Fasting has many benefits, one of which is that it allows space for Jesus to grow. Also, in a culture or circumstance that aims to crush your courage, fasting actually adds strength and reliance on God. Consider how you can create room for Jesus to grow in your life by both praying and fasting.   

Christian fasting — voluntarily abstaining from food for spiritual purposes — can have many positive expressions and outcomes. Among them are an expression of our worship and hunger for God, a strengthening of prayer, repentance and return to God, seeking God’s guidance, and a longing for Christ’s return.   

The Beatitudes are a series of blessings that Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew. When you consider your blessings in life, remember that to be truly blessed is to live in a state of closeness with God because He is the blessing.

Christmas is more than the seasonal festivities that are all around us. It’s a time to pause and reflect on what truly matters — the birth of Jesus. As you celebrate Christmas, remember the reason that we can have true hope and unending joy in this season and beyond is because of the birth of our Savior.
