Whether you’re new to HCBC, a new believer in Jesus Christ, or His long-time follower, you have a “Next Step.” The spiritual life is a journey, or a series of steps, that continually lead us closer to Jesus and to the life He intends for us.
These aren’t by any means the only steps you can take, but they are a few key ones that we recommend for everyone.
If you’re new to HCBC, we pray that you will take advantage of all the opportunities to connect with other people. We’re family here, and we want you to be part of it! Finding out more about who we are through Newcomers, joining a small group, and making the commitment to membership are some great first steps.
Take some intentional steps to grow in your relationship with God, such as regular time in the Bible, classes that address relevant topics, men’s and women’s Bible studies, and consistent worship attendance.
God has given each of us specific gifts to use for His glory and to benefit others. (Romans 12:5-6) When all of us are serving, the body of Christ is functioning as God intended, with each of us playing a part in His plan for us and for others. Serving is also a great way to connect with others and build lasting relationships.
Giving from your financial resources for the cause of Jesus Christ allows you to have a personal investment in God’s work, whether it is here in our community or around the world. Giving cheerfully and in obedience to God’s leading is a significant step in becoming a mature believer. You can give online, during Sunday worship, or via mail to the church office.
Jesus told His followers to be His witnesses. (Acts 1:8) We believe Jesus has called our church and each of us individually to share the good news of the gospel within our own communities, our city, cross-culturally and with people of all nations. That’s why our vision is to “reach every man, woman and child” so that they have the chance to experience the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ.
